PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
MSP deployed the Automated Deformation Monitoring System (ADMS) for Contract CR116 – Design & Construction of Ang Mo Kio Interchange Station & Tunnels to monitor ground and structural settlement in real time throughout the construction process. Given the project’s complexity and its proximity to critical infrastructures, including residential buildings, roads, and utilities, the use of robotic total stations with reflectorless targets provided precise, continuous, and unmanned data acquisition. The ADMS played a vital role in ensuring early detection of ground movements induced by excavation and tunnelling works, particularly during tunnel boring machine (TBM) operations. This system enabled timely response and risk mitigation measures to safeguard existing structures, maintain public safety, and comply with LTA’s strict monitoring requirements.
